Too High a Price
Posted on February 6, 2018 | Posted by Pastor Daniel
Hear, O heavens, and listen, O earth; for the Lord has spoken:
I reared children and brought them up,
but they have rebelled against me.
(Isaiah 1:2)
An investigation.
Shots fired.
Four are wounded.
Two lie dead.
Families torn apart.
A city mourns.
All for …
A stolen car.
A stolen car!
Lives lost, and hearts broken, and trust eroded,
for a hunk of metal and plastic.
For a stolen car, was paid
that which was very good,
that which was made in the image of God.
Twice.
Too high a price.
Bind up the wounded, O God.
Comfort the grieved, O God.
Set us right, O God.
Amen.
God shall judge between the nations, and shall arbitrate for many people;
they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spear into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
(Isaiah 2:4)
