Here’s a glimpse of our schedule while in Texas:
Monday, June 25th – depart Colorado Springs at 8:45am and ride on charter bus to Dallas, Texas with youth and adults from Joy Lutheran in Parker, CO. We will be staying at a Lutheran church in Dallas.
Tuesday, June 26th – depart Dallas and head to Houston. We hope to do a service project in the morning on our way to Houston. Tonight, we will be checked into our hotel – DoubleTree at the Galleria.
Wednesday, June 27th – first official day of the Gathering. Tonight we will join with 30,000+ Lutheran youth and adults for our opening session at the NRG stadium.
Thursday, June 28th – Today is our day of service where we will be going out into Houston to do service projects. We do not know what we will be doing yet! Then tonight will be another large group gathering.
Friday, June 29th – Today is our interactive learning day where we will have a chance to encounter God through a variety of learning styles and sensory experiences. We will spend the day at the NRG arena and center, then head to the stadium for another large group gathering.
Saturday, June 30th – We will be spending the day with other groups from our synod for a day of learning with them, then attend another large group gathering.
Sunday, July 1st – This is the last day. We will have a closing worship in the morning, complete with communion for 30,000+. Then, we hope, to head to a beach for a couple of hours before loading the bus for our journey home. We will drive straight through the night, arriving back in Colorado Springs between 8 and 9am…hopefully!
Thank you again for your prayers.
