GenM2Z

When was the last time you made a change? Maybe it was a move to a new place or a different job? What are some of the feelings you remember as you made the transition? Who helped you though? Change can be both exciting and a bit scary, pending the circumstances. This fall recent high school grads from all over the country will transition from the known hallways of high school to life’s next adventure. To support seven of Ascension’s recent high school grads, they’ve each been paired with a Millennial from Ascension. The Millennials, born from 1981 – 1997 according to Time Magazine and Pew Research, are the closest generation to Generation Z and they have made the transition more recently themselves, which definitely can’t hurt!
The church is a natural context to offer mentorship pairs. Like Jesus and the Disciples, Paul and Timothy, Naomi and Ruth, and Elijah and Elisha, GenM2Z pairs are invited to be in prayer for one another, share life’s experiences and encouragement for the journey and have some fun along the way. Through connections like these, it becomes clear that creating faithful community happens both within and outside the church walls. Our prayer for each GenM2Z pair is that they know they are loved, never alone and always welcome home.
Maybe you’re going through a transition in your life right now. Who is helping you traverse the change? We at Ascension pray you have people and communities in your life who abide with you no matter what is happening in life. If you don’t and even if you do, you are always welcome at Ascension.
Come worship with us Sundays 8 am and 10:30 am. Not able to make it in person? Check us out on facebook.com/ascensioncos/ or instagram.com/ascensioncos/
