Join the Ascension Book & Podcast Club for two upcoming Discussions.
Faith Seeking Understanding is Ascension’s book, podcast, and occasional movie club! We discuss works of non-fiction, with some dabbling of fiction thrown in. Usually we’ll address a timely topic. We’ve read books and listened to podcasts on homelessness, racism, poverty, criminal justice, gun violence, climate change, elder care, and more. This year-old episode of On Being called “AI, and What It Means to Be (More) Human” This is a shockingly optimistic take on AI, and I’ll be really curious to hear not only what you think about it, but if it helps us to explore, as the title notes, what it is to be human.

The Anxious Generation
Our next book is “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt. I’m not sure I’m gonna like this book, or agree with it. But I do think it will cause me to think and lead to some good discussion on parenting, our connections to technology, the power of large companies, and ‘kids-these-days’.
