Freedom from Fear

As the women leave the tomb and the dazzling light, they run with
fear and with great joy. The fear does not disappear. There is still a
lot to be scared of in this world, and you’d have to be a fool to think
otherwise. But with a new vision, with a new future opened up ahead of
them, with a new faith in God who was not defeated by the forces of
fear, the women are no longer held in fear’s tight grip. They are no
longer defined by fear, for they have hope. They can now run into the
future, into the world, with fear, but also with great joy.
Do not be afraid. You are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He
is not here. For Christ is risen!
