Reflections
Even There

In Confirmation the middle school youth are learning about Baptism. That what God has done for us through the waters of Baptism can never be reversed. We are children of God forever. When I consider my Baptism and reflect on what God has done through making us His children, Psalm 139 comes to my heart.
King David considers the depth and breadth of God’s love for him. He concludes there is no place, and nothing that can separate him from God’s presence. David writes, “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Even there. In those places where we grieve, experience pain and brokenness in life, health and in relationships. In those places we are full of joy and hope. In all places and circumstances be encouraged that event there God is with you and will love and guide you. What is your even there? Talk to God about it and trust He is with you. Amen.
