Blessing of the Backpacks

The start of a new school year is exciting. New friends. New teachers. New lunchboxes. But it can also be nervewracking. What if it’s too hard? What if I don’t make friends? What if I miss being home?
In these times of excitement and anxiety, it’s good to remember the God who walks with us, gives us courage, and listens to our fears. So, we invite you to our annual blessing of the backpacks during worship this Sunday, 8/15. Students, teachers, administrators, and staff are encouraged to bring their backpacks, briefcases, and bags to be blessed. A keychain will be given to all as a reminder of the care of the Ascension community and the unending love of God. Join us in person or online!
